Myeshia Armstrong appointed Vice President for Administration & Finance

Dear Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV community,

I am pleased to announce that Myeshia Armstrong has accepted the position as Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s new Vice President for Administration & Finance. She will join us June 1.

Ms. Armstrong joins us from East Los Angeles College, where she serves as Vice President of Administrative Services. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at Mt. San Antonio College, Rio Hondo College and MiraCosta College, as well as the CSU System office.

As we spoke during her interview process, I learned about Ms. Armstrong’s personal commitment to creating an inclusive and innovative infrastructure that supports access to higher education and student success, as well as lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. She received her undergraduate degree from Cal State Long Beach and her master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

The Vice President for Administration & Finance is an important position that leads essential university areas including Human Resources, Facilities Development & Operations, University Police Department, Financial Services, Risk Management and Information Technology Services. Please join me in thanking these members of the search committee for their diligent efforts to recruit Ms. Armstrong to Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV: Christian Rosseler, Paul Carpenter, Ryan Heryford, Monika Sommerhalter, Nancy Mangold, Vareece Lincoln and Rohitha Romiro.

I appreciate the interim leadership of Andre Johnson and Derek Aitken, as they have overseen these important functions and departments following Debbie Chaw’s retirement late last year. They will continue to support the Division of Administration & Finance through June.

With warm regards,

Cathy Sandeen
President
