ARTICULATION/TRANSFER OF CREDIT COURSE EQUIVALENCY REVIEW

The Office of Articulation/Course Equivalency Review and Documentation is housed under Academic Affairs / Academic Resources and Planning. Our primary goal is to ensure that students planning to transfer to Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV from other postsecondary institutions have access to accurate information about Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV course equivalencies and transfer pathways. In support of this goal, Articulation strives to:

  • Identify potential course equivalencies and pathways, facilitate faculty review, and then publicize this information;
  • Support the Faculty’s role in course equivalency review;
  • Collaborate with other California State University Campuses to facilitate reciprocity of courses (both online and on-the-ground).
  • Collaborate with other Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV offices working with transfer credit (Admissions/Advising/International Student Affairs/Major Departments and Programs);
  • Develop and deliver resources about articulation and transfer credit to the campus;
  • Utilize technology to improve data accuracy and increase accessibility to information about transfer credit.

Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT/STAR/SB1440) Information/ROADMAPS

The Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act was enacted with the passage of SB 1440, which became state law in 2010. The STAR Act enabled California’s Community Colleges and the California State University to collaborate on the creation of the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT). Two types of ADTs exist: 1) Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and 2) Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees.

Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV recognizes AA-Ts or AS-Ts as similar to many of its degree programs.

Please remember that students are best advised to meet with their department advisor every semester to stay on track for graduation.  The Articulation Office is not a student facing office but works with the department faculty and student advisors to help them support each student’s pathway to graduation.
